Qualifications, Opportunities, and Support

Already a qualified and accredited LTA coach? Great news! We provide coaching opportunities across our student, b:active and junior programmes as well as the chance to volunteer whilst gaining your qualifications with us. And if we can't help you, we will find someone that can! Through our various links with local clubs and partners across Bristol.

Not going down the coaching route? Then how about becoming a referee or competition organsier. We provide opportunities for qualified students to earn money by running junior and student competition. We can also help you get qualified.

Tennis Assistant Course (Level 1) 2023

The University workforce programme provides a simple and succinct pathway for University of Bristol students to gain their LTA Tennis coaching qualifications through paying a one off and heavily discounted fee.

The programme brings together UOB, Team Bath (approved LTA Tennis Coach Development Centre) and Game Changers (UOB Sports Leadership & Volunteering Programme) to help create cheaper and more accessible courses for you.

  • Closed course – for UOB students only

  • On your doorstep – In partnership with Team Bath, our bespoke courses will run at UOB sports ground; Coombe Dingle.

  • Heavily discounted course – In partnership with Team Bath and Game Changers the course will be available to purchase for UOB students only with up to 75% discount!

  • Mentoring from our LTA coaching team – ‘buddy up’ with one of our coaching team to improve your knowledge.

  • Opportunities to volunteer – Gain vital experience by volunteering on our community and student programmes.

  • Opportunities for paid coaching roles – Either with UOB or one of our partners across the city.

  • Work experience and networking opportunities – link with other coaches, clubs and partners across the sector.
